Pakistanis can now apply for Canada’s Express Entry visa program, as the Government of Canada continues to invite skilled professionals from Pakistan and other countries to apply for permanent residence under its immigration system.
The Express Entry system is designed to manage applications for skilled workers through category-based selection rounds. These rounds target candidates based on specific qualifications such as:
- Official language proficiency (English or French)
- Relevant work experience in high-demand occupations
- Educational background
In-Demand Categories for 2026
Currently, Government of Canada is actively seeking applications from professionals in the following fields:
- Medical doctors and healthcare workers
- Researchers and STEM professionals
- Senior managers with Canadian work experience
- French-speaking candidates
- Social services personnel
- Skilled trades workers
- Educators
- Transport sector professionals
These targeted categories are announced in advance, allowing eligible candidates to prepare and improve their profiles accordingly.
How the Express Entry Process Works
To apply under Express Entry system:
- Candidates must first meet the basic eligibility criteria.
- They must then qualify under one of the specific category-based draws.
- Once eligible, profiles are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
- Top-ranking candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
After receiving an ITA, applicants must submit their complete application within 60 days.

The current fee for applying for permanent residency is 575 Canadian dollars.
